Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram in wreath in left field, MI and pellet below throne. SC 82.5b var. (no pellet); Price 3747 var. (same); HGC 9, 10f; Berlin 18207741 (same obv. die); CNG 399, lot 220 (same obv. die). VF. Very rare variety with pellet below MI, only one in Pella (Berlin), five in CoinArchives (only one noting the pellet).


It is interesting that no prior publication noted this variety, since the Berlin Museum piece was from the Prokesch von Osten collection, and was in the museum since 1875!
