SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles. 317-289 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 17.13 g, 7h). Struck circa 317-310 BC. Head of Arethusa left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring, and pearl necklace; three dolphins around, ΦI below neck / Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving fast quadriga left; counterclockwise triskeles above, ΣYPAKOΣIΩN in exergue. Ierardi 64 corr. (O12/R40 - no monogram on rev.); HGC 2, 1348 var. (some without monogram); SNG ANS 640 corr. (same dies; no monogram); McClean 2817 (same dies). EF, toned. Very rare issue without monogram on reverse, only one die noted by Ierardi.
