1579 H. Armored, draped, and laureate bust right / Cross fleurée with H at center. Duplessy 1131; cf. Ciani 1430; Lafaurie 971; Kopicki 10420. Near EF, toned. Good metal.

Henri III was crowned King of Poland in 1574, having been elected after the death of Sigismund II Augustus the following year. He was to spend only one year in the country, as he was forced to return to France to succeed his brother Charles IX to the French throne.
