Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Quinarius (14mm, 1.60 g, 11h). Contemporary imitation. Uncertain mint; imitating a P. Carisius, legatus pro praetore, issue. Struck circa 25-23 BC or later. Bare head right / Victory standing left, crowning trophy; dagger(?) and curved sword(?) at base. For prototype: cf. RIC I 1a; cf. King 3; cf. RSC 386. Fine, toned, a few deposits and cleaning scratches.
