L. Titurius L.f. Sabinus. 89 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.70 g, 11h). Rome mint. Bareheaded and bearded head right of the Sabine king Tatius; palm frond below chin / Two soldiers facing one another, each carrying off a Sabine woman in his arms. Crawford 344/1c; Sydenham 698b; Tituria 3. VF, iridescently toned, scratches and digs on the obverse. Rare variety. With an early 20th century Dutch collector’s ticket, indicating it was purchased from J. Schulman, 24 December 1918.
