SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos IV Epiphanes. 175-164 BC. Æ (15mm, 3.48 g, 12h). Quasi-municipal issue. Hierapolis on the Pyramos (Kastabala) mint. Struck circa 168-164 BC. Radiate(?) and diademed head right / Eagle standing left; monogram to right. Cf. SC 1391.2; cf. HGC 9, 682. VF, dark green to black patina with light reddish earthen highlights/deposits. Rare.


On this specimen, the radiate crown is barely visible, with only traces of the rays emanating from the head.
