SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos III ‘the Great’. 222-187 BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.19 g, 12h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Series 4, circa 197–187 BC. Diademed head right / Apollo, testing arrow and resting hand on bow, seated left on omphalos; monogram to inner right. SC –; Le Rider, Antioche –; HGC 9, 447u. Good VF, toned, a couple die breaks, large surface crack (fragile). Unpublished variety with this monogram. SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS.


Although this issue is unpublished, the portrait is undoubtedly of late Antioch style.
