MYSIA, Kyzikos. 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (23mm, 12.58 g, 12h). Wreathed head of Kore Soteira left, hair in sphendone covered with a veil / Apollo, nude but for chlamys draped from his waist, seated left on omphalos, holding phiale, left arm resting on kithara seated on ground to right; to upper left, helmeted head of Athena left; scepter (or torch, or thymiaterion?) to lower left. Cf. Von Fritze II 28–32; Boston MFA –; SNG BN –; Traité –. VF, dark find patina, cleaning marks. Very rare variety, apparently unpublished with these control marks.
