JUDAEA, Sebaste. Domitian. As Caesar, AD 69-81. Æ (22.8mm, 13.74 g, 12h). Countermarked by Legio X Fretensis. Dated CY 109 (81/2[?] CE). Laureate head right; c/ms: imperial bust right within incuse; [LXF] within incuse / Tyche standing left, holding globe and spear; [L]Θ[P] in upper left field; c/ms: boar standing right, with LXF above and dolphin below, all within incuse; galley right within incuse. For coin type: RPC II 2226; for c/m pattern: cf. Barag Group III; for c/ms: Howgego 119, 291, 410, and 733i. Fair, dark green to black patina with some light earthen highlights/deposits; c/ms: Fine to VF. Rare. The first two countermarks on the obverse are barely visible, having been flattened by the subsequent application of the second pair.
