YORK (Restored). Richard III. 1483-1485. AR Halfpenny (14mm, 0.48 g, 12h). Tower (London) mint; im: halved sun & rose (off flan). Small crowned facing bust / Long cross pattée; trefoil in each quarter. Withers IV 1a; North 1688; SCBC 2171. Good Fine, toned, irregular flan.

Although the initial mark is off the flan, the style of the bust also can determine the issue; a small, neat bust is used for the halved sun & rose issue, while the boar’s head issue has a large and long bust.
