THRACE, Odessos. Circa 225-200 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 16.73 g, 11h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, KOI above P; OΔH (civic) monogram below throne. Topalov, Odesos, Series 22, Issue 38 corr. (monogram); Price 1163 corr. (same); Black Sea Hoard 254–7 (OH/R23); HGC 3, 1584. VF, toned.

From the Colin E. Pitchfork Collection. Ex Classical Numismatic Group 58 (19 September 2001), lot 254.

The monogram in Price is incorrectly recorded. Price references a coin in Munich, but this is erroneous (it is not in the SNG for the Munich collection, published after Price), and a coin in the ANS collection is the only coin listed under 1163 in Pella; it is a coin with the monogram as here, and is a die match to Black Sea Hoard 258–65.
