Claudius. AD 41-54. Fourrée Denarius (17.6mm, 2.65 g, 2h). Roman-British imitation. Copying a Rome mint issue of AD 46-47. TI CLΛV CΛESΛR ΛVG P M TR P VI IMP XI, laureate head right / SPQR/P • P/OB CS in three lines within wreath. Cf. RIC I 41; cf. von Kaenel Type 26; cf. RSC 87. Good VF, toned, plating broken in a few spots. The D in CLAVD in the obverse legend was dropped by the engraver of this imitation die.
