Anonymous issues. temp. Tiberius, AD 14-37. Æ Tessera (19mm, 3.86 g, 10h). Struck circa AD 22/3-37. Radiate head of Augustus right within plain border / VIIII within pearl border and wreath. Cf. Buttrey 6/VIIII (unlisted combination, radiate only); Cohen –; Kestner,
Tesseren –; cf. NAC 40, lot 650 (same obv. die; different numeral). Good VF, green and red-brown patina, some smoothing. Very rare and interesting bust type.
