Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; bee in left field; below throne, monogram above three pellets. Price 2563 var. (no pellets); ADM I Series X var. (unlisted variety). EF, lustrous. Unique variety.
Interestingly, this piece is also obverse die linked to BM RPK,p83G.51.AleIII (in Pella) and G. Hirsch 261, lot 228, which are the only two examples of this issue where Zeus’ legs are crossed.
