SCOTLAND. Robert III. 1390-1406. AR Groat (26.5mm, 2.43 g, 5h). Heavy coinage, First issue. Edinburgh mint. Struck 1390-circa 1403. Crowned facing ‘rough’ bust within tressure of seven arches with three pellets on cusps; fleur-de-lis in legend / Long cross pattée; three pellets in each quarter. SCBI 35 (Ashmolean & Hunterian), 561 (lis not noted); SCBC 5164A. VF, toned, flan a little irregular.
