A pair of gold earrings with stone inserts. Roman, 2nd-3rd centuries AD. Each earring with two bezels set in stone, surrounded by borders of globules and separated by two conical ornaments worked in filigree (bent over on one of the earrings). One earring set with amethyst and carnelian, the other with amethyst and citrine.
Lengths: each approx. 20mm; combined weight: 6.14g. Impact damage and loss of some globules.
