Gilt silver crossbow fibula. Roman, 2nd-3rd centuries AD. A crossbow-type fibula in silver with much of the top portion of bow gilt. Arch of bow shows openwork design featuring two standing birds facing one another. Pin is original but fixed in place. Dimensions: 6.6x3.2cm. Light encrustation on underside. Gilding worn in areas, otherwise original and intact.
