This large and popular piece was struck by W. Upcott, a book collector and antiquarian, for sale to collectors. It depicts two famous Devonshire lighthouses, designed by the civil engineer John Smeaton: the 1759 Eddystone Lighthouse and the 1777 Spurn Point Lighthouse.
