Bareheaded and bearded head of King Tatius right; SABIN downward to left, (TA) monogram to right / Abduction of the Sabine Women: two soldiers, facing each other, each carrying off a Sabine woman in his arms; L TITVRI in exergue. From the Andrew McCabe Collection. Ex Künker 262 (13 March 2015), lot 7544.

The key for this coin type is getting the faces of the participants clear, and expressing the sorts of emotions that would be appropriate for the circumstances. The die engraver got this spot on. The two soldiers are evidently having an animated and urgent conversation with each other. [Andrew McCabe]
