BRUTTIUM, Kaulonia. Circa 500-480 BC. AR Third Nomos – Drachm (16mm, 2.27 g, 11h). Apollo advancing right, holding branch aloft in right hand, left arm extended, upon which a small daimon, holding branch in each hand, runs right; KAVΛO (retrograde) to left; to right, stag standing right, head reverted; dot-and-cable border / Incuse of obverse, but no daimon and ethnic in relief; radiate border. Noe, Caulonia 205 (same dies); Gorini 10; HN Italy 2039; BMC 15 (same dies); Rhousopoulos 210 (same dies). Good VF, toned, a couple light marks in fields. Excellent metal. Very rare denomination.
