MACEDON, Neapolis. Circa 500-480 BC. AR Hemistater – Drachm (16.5mm, 4.19 g). Facing gorgoneion with protruding tongue / Quadripartite incuse square. AMNG III/2, 7; HGC 3, 584; SNG ANS 420–2; Traité I 1741. Superb EF, lightly toned, typical edge splits, slight granularity on reverse. Perfectly centered, and exceptional metal for issue. Rare denomination.
