ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23.5mm, 17.12 g, 4h). Helmeted head of Athena right, with frontal eye / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. Starr pl. XXIII, 8’; Kroll 8; HGC 4, 1597. Good VF, lightly toned.


The style of this piece suggests that it was struck very early in the long classical period production that lasted from circa 454-404 BC.
