SICILY, Syracuse(?). Æ Sestertius (33.5mm, 21.23 g). Countermarks applied during the reign of Tiberius, AD 14-37. Diety standing left, wearing crescent headdress, in an oval countermark, and radiate helmet right, in a circular countermark on a bronze sestertius of Augustus. Pangerl 65 and 66. Host Fair, c/m’s VF, green patina. Rare. Well struck countermarks.
