SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Æ (27mm, 14.10 g). Countermark dated year 2 of the reign of Nero (AD 55/6). NE/•B in oval countermark on a bronze of Tiberius from Antioch. Howgego – (but cf. 521-4 for similar countermarks of Gaius, and 546-7 for similar countermarks of Claudius); McAlee 250(d)/3 (for same countermark on an issue of Claudius) and p. 393-4, footnote 9 = Freeman & Sear 4, lot 479 (
this coin, cited). Host Near VF, VF, brown patina. Extremely rare – one of only two known to McAlee.
