Domitian. AD 81-96. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.39 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 95-96. Laureate head right / Altar, with two figures of soldiers on front panel; on top at each corner, aquilae with a seated captive beneath. RIC II 784; RSC 296. VF, toned, lamination flaw on Domitian neck, a few spots of verdigris on the reverse. Rare type, includes an old collector’s ticket. Only five examples on CoinArchives.
