CILICIA, Tarsus. Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Tridrachm (25.5mm, 9.88 g, 12h). Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Apollo standing right, leaning on serpent-entwined tripod behind him, holding laurel branch with his left hand, clasping right hands with Perseus, who is standing left, holding harpe with left hand. Prieur 770 var. (obv. bust type); SNG Levante –; SNG France 1410-11 var. (same); RPC III 3269/4 (this coin cited). VF, toned, some porosity, scratches, irregular flan. Extremely rare, Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, four on CoinArchives, and four specimens cited by the authors of RPC, including this coin.
