In our description for this coin in CNG 43, we noted: “Only one tridrachm of Domna, year 16, is recorded by Sydenham. The letters ANTΩ are unrecorded in any denomination. Might they make reference to a short-lived renaming of the city in honor of the new emperor in 211 (Caesarea Antoniniana)? Possibly of great historical interest.”
