ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 710-720. AR Sceatt (12mm, 0.88 g). Series G, type 3b, possibly a local imitation. Mint in Northumbria (prob. York). Diademed head right; cross pommée to right / Standard with central pellet, saltires and triple pellets in angles, pellets between saltires. Cf. Abramson 21.20 (for type); cf. SCBI 63 (BM), 435-442 (same); cf. SCBI 69 (Abramson), 310-1 and 314-6 (same); North 43; SCBC 800. Good VF, light deposits.
