The significance of this Bonus Eventus (good/successful outcome) is unclear here. It may refer to a successful military venture, but the fact that the figure holds corn-ears suggests some connection with Rome’s corn supply. Might it refer to a successful harvest, with the genius (spirit) of the emperor performing a sacrifice to give thanks to the gods for this?
