PHOENICIA, Byblus. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 15.64 g, 12h). Struck AD 215-217. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; ram’s head left above altar between legs. Prieur 1313 (this coin). Good VF, toned with underlying luster, graffito “A” in upper right reverse field, a couple minor deposits on the obverse. Extremely rare, only one known to Prieur, and none in CoinArchives.
