Diademed and draped bust of Libertas right; LXVI above pileus to left, S • C below chin / Roma in biga, holding spear and reins, assisting togate figure into chariot; scorpion below horses. Crawford 392/1a; Sydenham 789a; Farsuleia 1; Type as RBW 1430. EF, deeply toned with some iridescence.

The format of the control mark, apparently LXVI with a bar connecting the top of VI, can be compared with other examples in CNR (Banti) that similarly have a bar connecting the top of VII, VIII, etc. Perhaps it was a means of ensuring the trailing I's did not get lost in the coin design.
