THRACE, Byzantion. Circa 270-early 260s BC. AV Stater (18.5mm, 8.58 g, 5h). In the name and types of Lysimachos. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left, Π on throne, K in exergue. Marinescu, Early, Issue VII, 10 (dies E/i); Thompson 241 (Pella); Müller –; HGC 3, 1373 var. (no control marks). EF, tiny mark on reverse. Very rare first gold of Lysimachos type issued at Byzantion.
