PHOENICIA, Berytus. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 14.56 g, 6h). Laureate bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; three grain ears between legs, dolphin-entwined trident right in exergue. Prieur 1299. VF, lightly toned, some porosity. Extremely rare, only one known to Prieur, and one in CoinArchives (CNG 81, lot 834, which realized $1750 hammer).
