ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, laureate bust right, slight drapery / P M TR P XIIII COS III P P, Caracalla (as Virtus) standing left, cradling parazonium in right arm, left hand holding reversed spear set on ground, right foot on leg of captive seated right below. RIC IV –; Calicó 2714 (same dies as illustration = Triton VI, lot 1012); BMCRE –; Biaggi –; Jameson –; Mazzini –; NAC 99, lot 24 (same dies). EF, underlying luster, scratch in field on obverse. Extremely rare.
