ANGLO-SAXON, Pale Gold Phase. Circa 650-675. AV Thrymsa – Shilling (13mm, 1.29 g, 5h). ‘Pada’ series (Rigold P IA). Mint in Kent. Helmeted bust right; annulets flanking helmet; CTΛ IZHC (C’s retrograde) clockwise around from lower left / Standard inscribed PADA (in Runic); below, tufa flanked by two Vs; IAm above. EMC 2018.0372 (this coin); Abramson 1.10; SCBI 63 (BM), 31 var. (placement of tufa); SCBI 69 (Abramson), 16 (same dies); North 151; SCBC 768. Good VF, a few light marks. A pleasing example with high gold content. Extremely rare.
