Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (21.5mm, 3.38 g, 6h). Class IIb. Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1303-1320 or later. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: • above Γ | • above Θ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael kneeling to left and right, respectively. Cf. DOC 267-403 (for type); PCPC 128 (sigla 131); SB 2396. EF, weakly struck in areas, edge clipped.
