KINGS of THRACE, Macedonian. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29.5mm, 16.63 g, 12h). Uncertain mint. Possibly posthumous issue. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, resting arm on round shield set on ground; spear in background, monogram in inner left field, uncertain symbol and monogram in exergue. Thompson –; Müller –; cf. HGC 3, 1750 (for type); A. Hess 207, lot 227 (same dies; ex Hermitage museum collection). VF, struck with worn obverse die, deposits on reverse. Very rare.
