Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian right vis-à-vis draped bust of Tranquillina left, wearing stephane / Triptolemus right in biga drawn by winged serpents. AMNG II 655; Mouchmov 2960; Varbanov 732 (same dies as illustration for 731, which is incorrecly labeled). VF, dark brown patina with touches of green.
Varbanov catalogues two varieties for this type: 731 and 732. The only difference is Є vs E in CЄB in the obverse legend. This coin uses CЄB, his no. 731 is CEB.
