Dometios. Mid 6th-mid 7th centuries. PB Seal (20.5mm, 10.51 g, 12h). Eagle flying facing, head right, holding snake in talons; Christogram above / +/ΔO/ME/TIY across field. Zacos III, p. 1820. VF, gray-brown patina, traces of earthen deposits.

The name Dometios appears more frequently in the period 550-650 and in the first half of the 8th century. The obverse depicts the Christ-eagle striking the Satan-serpent.
