SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 12.85 g, 6h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left; H beneath eagle’s head. Prieur 988 (this coin). Lightly toned with some underlying luster, a few light scratches. EF. Very rare, only six noted by Prieur, and three in CoinArchives.
