Mazzini, G. Monete imperiale romane. (Milano; Mario Ratto Editore, 1957-58). Complete in five volumes. Thick 4to. 277 + 408 + 332 + 365 + 327 pages; 531 very fine plates. Original blue publisher’s cloth, spines lettered in gilt, top edges gilt. Very Fine condition, a little dusty, the spines lightly marked, the contents clean throughout. A very good set of this major reference, seldom offered. Number 240 of a limited edition of 500.

Clain-Stefanelli 4808, “From Pompey the Great to Romulus Augustulus, also tesserae and contorniates.” Kroh p. 72 (five stars), “This is the publication of the finest private collection of Roman coins ever assembled and it included 8,051 coins... every one of them illustrated on 537 exceptional plates.
