BITHYNIA, Nicaea. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ (30mm, 12.44 g, 12h). Struck AD 214-217. Laureate and cuirassed bust right, slight drapery on shoulder / Caracalla, raising hand and holding scepter, enthroned left on quinquereme with four rowers visible, gubernator at stern; at prow signum and Serapis standing right, holding scepter and raising hand; at stern, vexillum inscribed VI/C. Weiser, Nikaia –; RG 469 = BMC 73 (same rev. die). Green patina, light smoothing in fields, minor tooling. Good VF. Interesting reverse type.
