‘ATYPICAL’ COINS, Edessa type. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 14.20 g, 7h). Radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Eagle standing facing, head and tail right, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; small shrine between legs. Prieur 1720 (same obv. die). Lustrous. EF. Extremely rare – only one known to Prieur.
