‘ATYPICAL’ COINS, Laodicea type. Elagabalus. AD 218-222. Æ Tetradrachm (25mm, 10.66 g, 11h). Laureate bust right, drapery on shoulder / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; crude five-pointed star between legs; Δ Є across fields. Cf. Prieur 1735. Brown surfaces. Good VF. Extremely rare, this coin was not recorded by Prieur in his book.
