SICILY, Gela. Circa 480/75-475/70 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24.5mm, 17.29 g, 8h). Charioteer, holding kentron in left hand and reins in right, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses with open wreath held in both hands / Forepart of bearded man-headed bull (river god) right; retrograde C-E-Λ-AΣ along lower edge; all within shallow incuse circle. Jenkins, Gela, Group II, 108 (O33/R62); HGC 2, 338; Rogers Collection (R. Ratto, 24 June 1929), lot 93 (same dies). Lightly toned. Good VF.
