ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 16.93 g, 11h). New Style coinage. Dorothe(os), Dioph-, and Nikodo(ros), magistrates. Struck 132/1 BC. Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; magistrates’ names in fields; to right, griffin springing right; H on amphora, ΔI below; all within wreath. Thompson 388d; HGC 4, 1602. Lightly toned, delamination on obverse. EF. Pleasing style and attractive in hand.
