EASTERN EUROPE, Imitations of Alexander III of Macedon. Mid 2nd – 1st centuries BC. AR Tetradrachm (31.5mm, 16.35 g). Imitating Mesambria issue of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, IΔN above helmet; monogram below throne. Cf. OTA 573/4 and KMW 1455 for similar; cf. Karayotov 238–9 for prototype. Lightly toned, double struck. EF.
