BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. AR Third Nomos (17mm, 2.57 g, 12h). Tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet; to right, heron standing left / Incuse tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet; to right, heron standing left. Attianese 63 var. (no heron or ethnic on reverse); cf. HN Italy 2081 (nomoi). Toned, a couple minor die breaks on obverse. VF. Very rare early fraction.
