CILICIA, Tarsus. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Drachm (22mm, 5.70 g, 6h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Tyche seated left on rocks, holding grain-ears and poppy; below, half-length figure of river-god Cydnus swimming left. Prieur – (cf. 810/809 for obv./rev.); SNG Levante 1075 var. (laureate head right); SNG BN 1548 var. (obv. bust seen from front, rev. legend and its distribution). Toned, porous, a few deposits. Fine. Extremely rare, Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, and one, this coin, in CoinArchives.
