SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 15.38 g, 6h). Struck AD 103-111. Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; club to right / Laureate large bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion’s skin tied around neck. McAlee 455A; Prieur 1495A (Tyre); RPC III 3529. Toned, some surface roughness. VF. Very rare with larger bust, only one example known to Prieur, eight in CoinArchives, and one specimen cited by the authors of RPC.
